چکیده

This paper addresses a family of probability models for the failure time process known as order statistic models. Conventional order statistics models make rather strong distributional assumptions about the detection times: typically they assume that these come from some parametric family of distributions. In this paper a new model is presented that relaxes these distributional assumptions, and in the tradition of non-parametric statistics generally ‘allows the data to speak for themselves’. The accuracy of the new model is compared on some real data sets with the predictions that come from several of the better parametric reliability growth models. key words: Software reliability growth, non-parametric estimation, kernel density estimation

Predicting Software Reliability with Neural Network Ensembles

Software reliability is an important factor for quantitatively characterizing software quality and estimating the duration of software testing period. Traditional parametric software reliability growth models (SRGMs) such as nonhomogeneous Poisson process (NHPP) models have been successfully utilized in practical software reliability engineering. However, no single such parametric model can obt...

Software Reliability Analysis Using Parametric and Non-Parametric Methods

In this paper, we provide a detailed comparison between various models that have been provided in literature for predicting faults in the software testing process. They are commonly known as software reliability models. In this paper we discuss an experimental evaluation of software reliability analysis using parametric and nonparametric methods. The experimental data set for different, small a...

Outer and Inner Confidence Intervals Based on Extreme Order Statistics in a Proportional Hazard Model

Let Mi and Mi be the maximum and minimum of the ith sample from k independent sample with different sample sizes, respectively. Suppose that the survival distribution function of the ith sample is F ̄i = F ̄αi, where αi is known and positive constant. It is shown that how various exact non-parametric inferential proce- ′ dures can be developed on the basis of Mi’s and Mi ’s for distribution ...

An approach to software reliability prediction based on time series modeling

Reliability is the key factor for software system quality. Several models have been introduced to estimate and predict reliability based on results of software testing activities. Software Reliability Growth Models (SRGMs) are considered the most commonly used to achieve this goal. Over the past decades, many researchers have discussed SRGMs’ assumptions, applicability, and predictability. They...

Assessing significance [JF 20]

With the exception of Bayesian analysis, phylogenetic inference procedures typically identify a best estimate of phylogenetic relationships, a so called point estimate of the phylogeny. However, the point estimate is often relatively uninteresting in itself unless we have some measure of its reliability. This lecture will be about techniques for examining the robustness or significance of the r...
